The seal shows how the sea is doing

Researchers from the Swedish Museum of Natural History have recently discovered that many seals in the Baltic Sea suffer from intestinal ulcers. This may indicate that previously unknown toxins are present in the seawater.

Britt-Marie Bäcklin has for almost 25 years researched the impact of environmental toxins on seals’ health. We follow her out into the archipelago when she will meet the seals in their natural environment for the first time.
