A Diver’s Diary from the Arctic Ocean: Part 2

10 Dec, 2021

It’s the month of November in Northern Norway, and it’s not just Deep Sea’s film crew looking for the herring.

Killer whales and fishing boats are supposed to share the coveted fish, but they have also received competition from a new old species – the humpback whale, which has made its way here all the way from Costa Rica.

In this second part of the reportage series, we follow underwater photographer Johan Candert under the surface as he tries to film the humpback whales, and he talks about what a challenge it is to capture the large fast animals with the camera during the few bright hours of the day.
