Foto: Edmar Barros\/AP\/TT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2023 var det hittills varmaste uppm\u00e4tta \u00e5ret, p\u00e5drivet av klimatf\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar och \u00f6verg\u00e5ngen mellan bland annat v\u00e4derfenomenen La Ni\u00f1a och El Ni\u00f1o, uppger V\u00e4rldsmeteorologiska organisationen (WMO) i en ny\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wmo.int\/publication-series\/state-of-global-water-resources-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">rapport<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det h\u00e4r ledde till extremv\u00e4der \u2013 som slog olika. V\u00e4dret har blivit mer of\u00f6ruts\u00e4gbart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Vi kan kalla det en oregelbunden hydrologisk cykel, som leder till pl\u00f6tsliga \u00f6versv\u00e4mningar och allvarlig torka, s\u00e4ger WMO:s generalsekreterare Celeste Saulo vid en presstr\u00e4ff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mindre-vatten-i-floderna\">Mindre vatten i floderna<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En varmare atmosf\u00e4r tar upp mer fukt. Det leder till att vissa omr\u00e5den torkar, medan andra drabbas av kraftigare nederb\u00f6rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I majoriteten av planetens floder som unders\u00f6kts i rapporten avviker vattenniv\u00e5erna fr\u00e5n det normala. I 45 procent av floderna rann mindre eller mycket mindre vatten \u00e4n normalt. Exempel \u00e4r den allvarliga torkan som drabbat Syd- , Nord- och Centralamerika, d\u00e4r Amazonas- och Mississippib\u00e4ckenen var rekordl\u00e5ga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2023 var det hittills varmaste \u00e5ret, det resulterade i torra floder, s\u00e4ger Stefan Uhlenbrook, chef f\u00f6r hydrologi, vatten och kryosf\u00e4ren (det frusna vattnet) vid WMO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I Sydamerika, d\u00e4r man f\u00f6rlitar sig p\u00e5 vattenkraft, har de l\u00e5ga fl\u00f6dena p\u00e5verkat elf\u00f6rs\u00f6rjningen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; I Ecuadors huvudstad Quito har man regelbundna str\u00f6mavbrott, eftersom det helt enkelt inte finns n\u00e5got vatten i reservoarerna, s\u00e4ger han.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dammar-brast\">Dammar brast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e5 andra h\u00e5ll i v\u00e4rlden var vattenniv\u00e5erna i floderna ovanligt h\u00f6ga. I Libyen ledde kraftigt regn till att dammar brast, vilket fick katastrofala f\u00f6ljder med minst 4&nbsp;700 d\u00f6dsfall och 8&nbsp;000 saknade. I ett nordiskt perspektiv n\u00e4mns stormen Hans, som i augusti 2023 orsakade mer \u00e4n 700 jordskred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De stigande temperaturerna g\u00e5r ocks\u00e5 h\u00e5rt \u00e5t v\u00e4rldens glaci\u00e4rer, som tappade mer \u00e4n 600 gigaton vatten f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret. S\u00e5 mycket har de inte f\u00f6rlorat p\u00e5 50 \u00e5r.
